For Immediate Release October 15, 2008 Garr Judd, 373-8550 The Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross (ARC) recently elected Linda P. Walton, as chairman of the board of directors, with Pimmie Lopez, as the new vice chairman, and Doug Warner will return as secretary. Also selected are three new members of the board including Scott Swain, Dan Ellertson and Wes Jones. Walton is the president of The Walton Group Inc., Provo; Lopez is the COO of Mt. Carmel Health; Doug Warner is associate vice president, Utah Valley University.; Swain is president of the Roots of Freedom; Ellertson is a commercial realtor with Commerce CRG, and Jones is the CFO of the Central Utah Clinic. “We are pleased with the new slate of officers and new board members,” Garr Judd, executive director of the Mountain Valley Chapter ARC, said. “The expansion of our Board will assist us with serving 14 counties in Utah – the largest geographic area of any chapter.” Other board members include John R. Dunn, director of operations, NuSkin; Vance Winn, CPA; Martin Dodge, CPA; Andrew Howlett, president of MediaRain; Brian Andreason, director of safety/security, Utah Valley Regional Medical Center; Sonia Ochoa, M.D.; John Curtis, COO, Corporate Alliance; Robert Lewis, CFO, Stores Online Inc.; Carol Walker, manager of community and public relations, Zion’s Bank; Jim Gibson, global director of public relations, Neways; Troy Peterson, president, Gold’s Gym. The Mountain Valley Chapter of ARC is dedicated to serving the public during disasters and provides other services including assistance with utilities, contacting members of the military during family emergencies, and contacting elderly residents daily to insure their health and safety.
