(OREM, Utah)---- Beginning fall of 2008, Utah Valley University will be offering students the opportunity to get hands-on experience through UVU’s new student public relations firm. All students who register automatically become members of the Public Relations Club (Future Public Relations Student and Society of America).

Clients will include the Mountain Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross, the Boys and Girls Club of Utah County, and the Food and Care Coalition. Several commercial clients will also be included.

The Firm, titled “Spec Topics Mass Communication”, is listed as COMM 350R 601. Class will be held Wednesdays from 5:00-7:30 p.m. in the Computer Science building, room 721. The class is worth three credits and may be repeated.

Advising the student firm will be Linda P. Walton, a Fellow and APR of Public Relations Society of America. Walton is President of The Walton Group Inc., a full service PR agency, since 1985. She also advised another university firm which became the number one student PR firm in the nation.
