During one of the worst winters Utah County has seen in years, the community is invited join together for a warm night at the beach. Provo Beach Resort is hosting a fundraiser Tuesday, February 12th 5pm-10pm for The Boys & Girls Clubs of Utah County.
Jay Roberts, general manager of Provo Beach Resort, is excited to help The Boys & Girls Club. “We think that everyone deserves to have fun. We respect the Boys and Girls Club and all the hard work they have put into our community,” Roberts said. “This event will make for an unforgettable night because we have a unique facility that can reward hard work and create moments of happiness that these kids will remember for a long time.”
David Bayles, executive director of The Boys & Girls Club, illustrates the need for after-school programs in Utah. “Each day thousands of children in Utah come home to an empty house. For each youth that is prevented from pursuing a high-risk lifestyle, the Club saves taxpayers millions of dollars,” Bayles said.
The generosity of companies, like the Provo Beach Resort, are a key factor in the success of the Boys & Girls Club. The Boys & Girls Club relies heavily on the philanthropic efforts of the community to help them accomplish their mission.
“Provo Beach Resort is in a unique position to create positive experiences for our guests. We believe that sharing these positive experiences with our guests in turn will create positive growth in individuals and the community as a whole,” Roberts said.
The event will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Fifteen dollar admission gets access to unlimited everything: bowling, Lazer Frenzy, Flo rider, golf simulator, ropes course, indoor croquet and access to arcade games. The evening will also feature live music from The Brocks at 8:45pm and Robert and The Carrolls at 9:30 p.m.
